💚🕊Align with Alisa: Finding Peace During Thanksgiving🕊💚
Thanksgiving is a time of gratitude and togetherness, but let’s be honest—it can also feel overwhelming. Between meal prep, hosting guests, and trying to make everything perfect, it’s easy to lose sight of what really matters. If you’re like me, the pressure can trigger anxiety, making it hard to enjoy the holiday.
This week, I want to share some tips to help you combat anxiety and have a healthier, more peaceful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.
🔸Recognizing Holiday Anxiety🔸
First, let’s talk about how anxiety might show up:
-Your heart is racing as you try to check everything off your list.
-Breathing feels shallow, and you’re easily overwhelmed.
-Sleep is disrupted because your mind won’t stop spinning.
-You’re snapping at loved ones, even though you don’t mean to.
Sound familiar? You’re not alone—I’ve been there too. But there are ways to turn things around and find calm amidst the chaos.
🔸How to Manage Thanksgiving Stress🔸
-Start Your Day with Intention
Each Thanksgiving morning, I take 10 minutes to breathe deeply and set an intention for the day. It helps me stay grounded and focused on connection rather than perfection.
=Simplify and Share the Load
Let go of trying to do it all. Ask for help with cooking, decorating, or even cleaning up. It’s not a failure to delegate—it’s a gift to yourself and your loved ones.
-Enjoy Food with Balance
I’ve learned to enjoy holiday foods while staying mindful. Balance sweet and savory dishes with nutrient-rich options, drink plenty of water, and avoid overindulging. This helps me feel energized instead of sluggish.
=Take Short Breaks
During the day, carve out 5 minutes to step outside, breathe deeply, or even sit in a quiet room. These small resets work wonders for staying calm and present.
=Gratitude is the Secret Sauce
In our family, we take a moment before dinner to share something we’re grateful for. It shifts the focus from stress to joy, and it’s a beautiful reminder of what the day is really about.
Let’s Make This Thanksgiving About Connection
I’d love to hear from you—how do you stay grounded during the holidays? Let’s share and support each other.
Wishing you a happy, healthy, and peaceful Thanksgiving!
